Your right to opt out
If you live in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Oregon or another state with a comprehensive privacy law, you can direct us to stop selling or sharing your personal information. Under the CCPA as amended by the CPRA, "sale" and "sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising" are defined broadly, and passing your request to marketing partners may fall inside those definitions.
Exercising this right is free, and we will not discriminate against you for using it.
How to submit a request
- Email: privacy@yourdomain.com with the subject line "Do Not Sell or Share". Include the name, email, phone and ZIP you used on the form so we can find your record.
- Phone: (800) 555-0123, Monday to Friday, 8am–6pm Mountain Time.
- Contact form: use the contact page and pick the "Privacy or data" topic.
- Mail: Auto Insurance, Attn: Privacy, 1200 Example Parkway, Suite 400, Phoenix, AZ 85004.
Global Privacy Control
We recognize the Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal as a valid opt-out request where state law requires it. If your browser or extension sends a GPC signal, we treat that as an opt-out for that browser without any further action from you.
Authorized agents
You may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf. We will ask for written proof of authorization and may ask you to verify your identity directly.
What happens after you submit
- We verify your identity against the information in our records.
- We stop selling or sharing your personal information going forward.
- We forward your opt-out request to the partners who already received your record.
- We confirm completion by email, generally within the timeframe your state requires (45 days in California, with an extension available where permitted).
Important limitation
An opt-out here stops us from sharing your information further. It does not automatically cancel calls or texts already underway from an agent you were matched with. To stop those directly, reply STOP to any text message or tell the agent to remove you from their list. You may also add your number to the National Do Not Call Registry.
Other rights
You may also request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information. See our Privacy Policy for the full list and for details about what we collect.
